Following yesterday’s new peak of 23 439 new daily cases, ALERT now estimates full occupancy of the entire country's vast capacity in ICU beds in 7 to 14 days and that of ventilators in 34 to 47 days, considering, respectively, the scenarios of 50% and 80% allocation of all available resources to treatment of COVID-19 patients.

 

This estimate is at a national level but several regions (Ceará, Pernambuco, Amazonas, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo) are probably already operating at near-full or full capacity.
