Despite Brazil's considerable resources in intensive care, at the current rate of new daily cases, of almost 15 000 new cases per day, ALERT estimates full occupancy of the country's vast capacity in ICU beds and ventilators in 1 to 2,5 weeks and that of ventilators in 1 to 2 months, depending on whether the percentage of available resources allocated to COVID-19 patients is 50% or 80%.

 

If daily new cases return to 20 000, as registered just three days ago, full occupancy in ICU beds will be reached in just 1 week and ventilators in 40 days.
