Last June 6, the Galician Committee for Innovation and Industry held the 6th Junior Galician Innovation Awards at Galicia's Technological Park in Ourense, Spain. Aiming at promoting the interest for Science and Technology among Secondary Education students, this institution awards these prizes on a yearly basis, as part of its Technological Innovation Plan.

Divided into 4 groups and for the whole day, students from the main Galician Secondary Education sector visited the Technological Park to find out about the various research projects that are currently taking place at that facility. Innova Auria, an ALERT Group subsidiary renowned in the IT field, welcomed both students and teachers to its premises.

Francisco J. Fernández López, Innova Auria's Executive Director, introduced the company, its mission and also the markets where it operates. A brief software demonstration followed, which was received by both students and teachers with enthusiasm and ALERT® received many compliments. At the end of the demonstration, a particularly enthusiastic student asked: "When will this application be available in our hospitals?"

The cerimony was presided by Salustiano Mato, I+D+i's Director, together with Ricardo Capilla, Tecnopole's Managing Director. Francisco J. Fernández López, Innova Auria's representative, also attended the ceremony, and was invited to present two of the awards.
