Since the end of May, five more national hospital units introduced ALERT® ER in their Emergency Departments. Namely, District Hospital of Santarém, Hospital Centre of Cova da Beira (composed by the units of Covilhã and Fundão), and the Hospital Centre of Alto Minho (composed by the units of Viana do Castelo and Ponte de Lima).

This represents the first step for the optimisation of their services, as the system allows the registration, interconnection, re-utilization and analysis of all information related to emergency episodes.

At present, there are 11 Portuguese Hospitals benefiting from the advantages of ALER® ER, using no paper in their Emergency Departments.
