The Connectathon (Connectivity Marathon) is an event promoted by IHE Europe that brings together several software vendors during an entire week. In the course of this event, interoperability capabilities of different systems are tested.

In order to participate in this European Connectathon, ALERT® had to pass the admission tests, and thus demonstrate its ability to meet IHE requirements. These tests - completed successfully - enable those vendors' information systems that are eligible to move on to the next stage - the Connectathon itself.

At the 2008 European Connectathon, ALERT will try to succeed in demonstrating new IHE integration profiles.

The following will be tested during the European Connectathon:

• PIX Manager HL7 v3 - patient identifier cross-referencing system (HL7 v3 interface);

• XDS Repository - repository with cross-enterprise document sharing capabilities;

• Content Consumer for EDR - remote access to patient referral documents for hospital Emergency Departments (Referral).
