The Basic Emergency Services (BES) at the Lisboa Norte Hospital Complex, located in Santo António dos Cavaleiros in Loures, Portugal, has been using ALERT® UBU since November 4, 2009.

This BES was inaugurated on September 9, 2009, by Ana Jorge, the Portuguese Minister for Health, and it processes emergency episodes 24 hours per day; it covers the Loures and Odivelas councils, which total about 300 thousand potential patients.

The implementation of ALERT® in this hospital complex, which sees between 250 and 300 patients every day, enables the computerization of the clinical records in Loures and the exchange of information between this service and Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon – a facility that has been working with ALERT® since 2006.

Thanks to ALERT®, any patient visiting Santo António dos Cavaleiros and needing further care at Santa Maria Hospital can have, when arriving at the hospital, all his/her clinical information, regarding this episode or previous ones at any of those emergency services, documented and available in the BES.
