Besides promoting the elimination of paper in clinical environments, ALERT also cares for the sustainability of our natural heritage by contributing towards the reforestation of Portugal's national park with native species.
On November 6, a group of ALERT employees participated, for the second consecutive year, in a project that aims at supporting the reforestation of the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
Under the orientation of Cristina Machado, the park's technician, the group planted around 40 trees, which included holly, oaks and chestnuts.
This project, which promotes the opportunity for socializing between adolescents from a children's home and ALERT employees, started last year, with the collecting of seeds in the park. After a germination period, the saplings were planted in the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
By continuing working on this project, ALERT, via its Foundation which is still in the process of being established, aims at contributing towards making the reforestation of Portugal's only national park more of a reality.
