On April 27 and 28, 2014 ALERT® SAIS (ALERT® CARE), in the clinical and non-clinical modules, and ALERT® HOME VISIT were upgraded at Família Victor Valla Clinic and Manguinhos Municipal Healthcare Center, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
With an average of 7 700 episodes per month, these basic healthcare units belong to the Oswaldo Cruz - Fiocruz - Foundation. Located in the Manguinhos area of that city, the units cover an estimated population of 39 000 people.
Família Victor Valla Clinic and Manguinhos Municipal Healthcare Center offer family health strategy and provides ambulatory appointments in the scope of primary care. The units include ambulatory services, a laboratory, a pharmacy and medical observation rooms.
This update will benefit an array of profiles: health community agents (79), social action agents (03), nurse technicians (36), nurses (27), physicians (28), dentists (26), phonoaudiologists, social workers (5), dietitians (6), psychologists (6), pharmacists (2), pharmacy technicians (2), dental assistants (22), registrars (27), dental technicians (13) and public health officers (11).
Established in 1900 by public health officer Oswaldo Cruz, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - Fiocruz - belongs to the Brazilian Health Ministry. This foundation is considered as the most important science and health technology institution in Latin America and a reference in the area of public health research.
