On December 10, 2013, there was an ALERT® upgrade to v2. at the facilities that integrate the Instituto Nacional do Câncer (INCA) in Brazil.

With this updated ALERT® version new functionalities are now available, such as: staging of cancer diagnoses using TNM and FIGO standards (for gynecological diagnoses), shortcut button, single page (able to document all episode information in a single page), discharge note and improvements in the access to information through the Viewer.

"The new version brings much added-value to users, in particular the ability to stage cancer diagnoses. This will enable us to fulfill an important step in ALERT®'s implementation at INCA: the Go Live of ALERT® OUTPATIENT at HCII. The way we now navigate in the application is a lot easier and more agile...", says Dr. Rondineli, Deputy Director and Coordinator of INCA and ALERT®'s Project Manager. "We still have a long way to go and some adjustments to make to items that appear from continuous use. I am certain that we will make ALERT® more and more customized and suited to the needs of our facility", he continues.

With over 70 years of activity, INCA is a Brazilian Health Ministry's body which develops and coordinates preventive and control actions on cancer. This institution's mission is to also provide care to patients suffering from the disease. For this purpose, the organization has various hospitals in Rio de Janeiro.
