ALERT Brazil signed a contract with the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) to computerize its units in Rio de Janeiro in order to promote a major improvement in its healthcare services by using a patient-centered electronic health record.
This project aims at implementing ALERT® PAPER FREE HOSPITAL (ALERT® PFH) software at Fiocruz's two institutes, the Fernandes Figueira Institute (FFI) and the Evandro Chagas Clinical Research Institute (ECCRI).
The ALERT® PFH solution, which will be installed at FFI and ECCRI, was developed to computerize hospitals, and allow for the documentation, integration and revision of all information related to hospital operations in real time. This software works as a management tool that helps to promote efficiency in hospital operations.
The FFI, a Fiocruz technical and scientific unit, is located in the south of Rio de Janeiro and is nationally and internationally renowed as a center of excellence for research, teaching, assistance and technological development in the area of women's, child and teenage health.
ECCRI was the first and only hospital in Brazil to be created for research purposes and it is situated in Fiocruz's campus in Rio de Janeiro. Its mission is to contribute towards providing better health conditions to the Brazilian population through integrated actions and clinical research, technological development, teaching and assistance in relation to contagious diseases.
With this project, Fiocruz will be able to achieve an efficient clinical information management that will allow for more modern and personalized services provided to patients.
