ALERT's participation in Medical Devices has been a strategic business move to expand the supply of its clinical software in Brazil. The event took place simultaneously with the 36th World Hospital Congress on November 10-12, 2009, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and gathered leading healthcare brands, especially the ones that present high quality standards, certification and competitiveness in order to be able to provide for hospitals in the five continents.

This exhibition displayed products, equipment and medical and hospital services dedicated to the needs of large hospitals. Among the general public were qualified professionals, such as directors of main hospitals and laboratories, and also buyers and distributors from all over Brazil. Luiz Brescia, Managing Director of ALERT Brazil, thinks that participating in Medical Devices Expo Rio 2009 was a way of expanding contacts and business. "We had the highest expectations. We arrived in this country at the end of 2007 and we already have several customers operating with the software. Our goal is to grow more and to fulfill Brazil's high demand for clinical process management", he pointed out.

ALERT participated in the event with some of its success stories, such as the contracts signed with the Secretary for Health of the State of Minas Gerais, the Santa Casa Group in Belo Horizonte, Unimed-BH and Beneficiência Portuguesa Hospital in São Paulo, Brazil. César Guimarães, ALERT's COO, also attended this event to show the efficiency of the system used in Europe, Asia and America. ALERT is a leader in the Portuguese market and over 70% of Portuguese Emergency Departments work with ALERT®.
