The TORCH Foundation and the Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals hosted the 5th Rural Hospital Information Technology Conference (HITCON/09).
The theme of this year's conference was the meaningful use of electronic health records in order to improve efficiency and global effectiveness of healthcare services and to maximize the complete transformation of clinical care.
Besides talks on issues related to the implementation and evaluation of information systems in the healthcare sector, there was an area where clinical information system suppliers were able to present, in 30 minutes, the main advantages of their products. These sessions took place in a highly exclusive environment and were directed at an audience that included hospital directors, healthcare professionals with senior clinical positions and IT department directors, among other. ALERT was responsible for the presentation that took place on the first day of the conference.
Furthermore, there was an area reserved for the exhibition of products from different suppliers, which included ALERT's. During the exhibition, ALERT's booth generated a lot of curiosity and attracted many visitors who had the opportunity to watch demonstrations on the ALERT® suite of products.
