On November 7, 2014, ALERT® OUTPATIENT went live at the outpatient services of Cancer Hospital IV (Hospital do Câncer IV - HC IV), which integrates the National Cancer Institute (Instituto Nacional de Câncer - INCA) in Brazil.

With this Go Live patients seeking the unit's services will now have their whole clinical process in ALERT®. In this manner, the paperless status has currently become a reality in the entire emergency, operating room, inpatient and ambulatory services.

The ambulatory services of HC IV employ a multidisciplinary team of around 15 people, which includes physicians, nurses, psychologists, case managers, physiotherapists and dietitians. The team provides care to patients in the scope of ambulatory appointments, home visits, inpatient, operating room and emergency services. This unit processes an average of 1 653 appointments, 436 emergency episodes and 186 inpatient episodes per month.

The solution's acceptance by the team of professionals has been excellent and they stopped using paper during their appointments from the very first moment.

HC IV is INCA's unit that is exclusively dedicated to palliative care of people with incurable cancer. This unit's mission is to "promote and provide oncological palliative care of the highest quality, with a technical and humanitarian ability, which focuses on offering the best quality of life to patients and their family".
