ALERT® MANCHESTER went live on May 12, 2009, at São Lucas Hospital Emergency Department, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

This was the first step in the ALERT®PAPER FREE HOSPITAL implementation at the Supplementary Medicine unit of the Santa Casa Group. This unit operates in the private medicine area and is organized in different categories: Group Medicine; Medical Cooperatives; Self-Management; Health Plan.

Besides the work carried out to adapt the premises to triage patients using the Triage Protocol, the last 4 months were dedicated to the analysis, integration, customization and training of over 150 professionals working at that facility. The São Lucas Hospital Emergency Department includes a reanimation room and it deals with an average of 300 cases per day.

Following the paper removal plan defined for the Emergency Department of this hospital, ALERT® EDIS was implemented on May 19, 2009, 7 days after ALERT® MANCHESTER went live and had been stabilized.
