On March 27, 2014, ALERT® INPATIENT went live at the Plastic Surgery Services of the Surgery and Inpatient Center of Cancer Hospital I (Hospital do Câncer I – HC I), in Brazil.

The Plastic Surgery Services at HC I were the first services in Brazil to perform breast reconstruction with transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous flaps and to introduce microsurgery as a surgical technique in public services.  This facility performs an average of 13 surgeries per month. ALERT®'s inpatient module will benefit a clinical team of 18 physicians, 12 of which are resident, six nurses and 11 nurse technicians.

HC I is the National Cancer Institute's (Instituto Nacional do Câncer – INCA) largest healthcare facility and one of the most well equipped hospitals of the Brazilian Ministry of Health. This 244-bed hospital provides diagnosis confirmation, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services to cancer patients.

In addition to being the head office of INCA's Board of Directors and the Bone Marrow Transplant Center, HC I also plays an important role in cancer research, as well as in organizing medical and nursing residency programs and specialization courses.

ALERT® INPATIENT also provides support to the Abdomen Services, the Intensive Care Unit, the Post-operative Unit, the Urology Services  and to the Oncology Services of that hospital.
