ALERT® EDIS went live at Santa Luzia Emergency Services in Brazil

ALERT® EDIS, a software solution for emergency services
, went live on October 19, 2010, in the Santa Luzia Emergency Services located in the city of Juiz de Fora of the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil.


Inaugurated on January 19, 2010, by President Lula da Silva, the Santa Luzia Emergency Services is able to process 450 daily episodes and is exclusively dedicated to pre-hospital emergency episodes. This facility performs low to medium complexity procedures. Available services include Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, X-ray, lab tests and electrocardiogram procedures, as well as small surgical interventions.


This service currently has 19 beds, 3 of which are for urgent episodes, and the rest are for patients under observation. The Santa Luzia Emergency Services also offers a mobile care unit.


This service has a team of 150 professionals, 37 of which are physicians. Other healthcare professionals include nursing assistants, social workers, pharmacist, nurse technicians and administrative assistants. 


The computerization of the Santa Luzia Emergency Services is part of the Minas Gerais Secretary of State for Health project to organize the state's emergency services.
