ALERT® EDIS went live on February 28, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. at Hospital do Câncer I (HC I), of the National Cancer Institute (INCA), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The adoption of this ALERT® module was greatly welcomed by the facility's healthcare professionals, and exceeded all the initial expectations of the people involved in the project.  All patients who arrived at the HC I were registered and had their clinical and administrative information completely documented in ALERT®.

Following the installation of ALER® EDIS, ALERT® INPATIENT and ALERT® ORIS at Hospital do Câncer II, the implementation of ALERT® EDIS in HC I is another step towards the computerization of INCA's healthcare facilities with ALERT® solutions.

HC I is INCA's largest healthcare facility and one of the most well equipped hospitals of the Brazilian Ministry of Health. This 188-bed hospital provides diagnosis confirmation, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services to cancer patients. In addition to being INCA's head office and the Bone Marrow Transplant Center, HC I also plays an important role in cancer research, as well as in organizing medical and nursing residency programs and specialization courses.

In 2010, HC I was certified by the Consortium for Brazilian Accreditation - organization connected to the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations - for providing quality services to patients and escorts according to international technical, management and human services quality standards.

The Go Live of another ALERT® module in INCA's network of healthcare facilities is yet another demonstration of ALERT's commitment and ability to implement its solutions in international reference customers.
