On November 3, 2015, ALERT® EDIS went live at Clínica UC San Carlos de Apoquindo in Chile.
The Clínica UC San Carlos de Apoquindo, based in the city of Santiago de Chile, is one of the various institutions that belong to the Red de Salud UC CHRISTUS, the most important private healthcare network in Chile, which endeavors to promote a service of excellence that is patient and family centered.
Besides the emergency service for pediatrics, trauma and orthopedics, general medicine, psychiatry and dentistry, where ALERT® EDIS is now implemented, the Clínica UC San Carlos provides various other clinical specialties, such as Cardiology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Orthopedics, Urology and Pediatrics.
With a user rate of 191 ALERT® EDIS users in its emergency services, this clinic also offers a maternity and imaging service and totals a clinical body of around 900 physicians. Furthermore, there is a healthcare unit where gastroenterology, ophthalmology and ears, nose and throat procedures are executed.
The facilities of Clínica UC San Carlos have a capacity of 107 beds and the clinic processes 770 outpatient appointments, 100 emergency episodes, 63 inpatient admissions and 90 varied procedures on a daily basis.
This installed ALERT® EDIS version brings significant improvements to the clinic with the introduction of Explicit Health Guarantees (GES – Garantias Explicitas en Salud), which is a feature that permits the management and documentation of mandatory notification diseases as established by the Health Ministry of Chile. This development is very important for this clinic and for other healthcare facilities that already work with ALERT®, as is the case of the Centro Médico Irarrázaval and the Hospital Clínico UC where ALERT® OUTPATIENT and ALERT® EDIS, respectively, are already implemented.
