ALERT® CARE Go Live at Fiocruz, Brazil

On December 10, 2014, ALERT® CARE, in the clinical and non-clinical modules, went live at Escola Germano Sinval Faria Primary Care Center, a basic healthcare unit that integrates the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - Fiocruz - in Brazil.

Established in 1967, with the main priority of serving  the population of the Manguinhos Complex, in Rio de Janeiro, this center has a multidisciplinary team of professionals offering the following specialties: General Medicine, Dermatology, Nursing, Stomal Therapy, Phonoaudiology, Geriatrics, Homeopathy, Nutrition, Odontology, Pediatrics, Psychology, Psychiatry and Social Services.


Escola Germano Sinval Faria Primary Care Center is an extension of the Manguinhos Municipal Healthcare Center that is already computerized with the ALERT® CARE and ALERT® HOME VISIT solutions to provide a careful family health strategy.


The center processes around 78 000 home visits per year, through their Family Health Program Team, 64 000 lab tests, 33 000 pharmacy appointments with delivery of medicine, 14 000 immunizations, 25 000 appointments and 15 000 medical appointments by other professionals.


Established in 1900 by the Public Health Officer Oswaldo Cruz, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation - Fiocruz - belongs to the Brazilian Ministry of Health. This foundation is considered as the most important science and health technology institution in Latin America and a reference in the area of public health research.
