ALERT held its 1st ALERT® STUDENT Users Group, which took place on June 26-28, 2011 at ALERT's head office in Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal.

The purpose of this event was to demonstrate ALERT® STUDENT, present the product's new functionalities and roadmap, as well as share current users' testimonials.

ALERT® STUDENT was developed to provide a knowledge network built in a collaborative manner by a community of Medicine students, teachers and physicians. It uses a teaching approach based on clinical problems (known as PBL – Problem Base Learning), which integrates basic science knowledge and clinical area knowledge for the study of the same problem, while employing standard terminology.

Launched a year ago, ALERT® STUDENT now has more than 2 600 concepts and more than 2 100 users in around 15 countries. The project has 4 affiliated universities from Portugal, Brazil, Mexico and Chile.

The mobile version of ALERT® STUDENT was also developed for iOS and Android and was launched in February and May, respectively. The mentioned applications have been downloaded more than 1 000 times.
