The diffusion of healthcare knowledge in the healthcare area has just acquired an online space which also has a social network. Still undergoing tests in Brazil, the application already has registered users. ALERT® STUDENT works through partnerships established with universities, where teachers and students produce concepts that may be useful to other users.

Working with the same model as the one in other countries, such as Chile and Portugal, the intention behind this network is to make everything that is published on the website useful to as many healthcare professionals as possible.

“If anyone submits a concept to the network’s discussion area, every member will be able to discuss it, and express their opinion until the concept reaches a level of maturity, at which point it is forwarded to an advanced area and will then be substantiated by the university,” explains Luiz Brescia, Managing Director of ALERT Brazil.

This partnership with the universities is free. However, in Brazil, it will only be established once the pilot project with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia Science University of Vitória (EMESCAM) is complete. The teaching facilities that shall become part of ALERT until the end of 2011 include the Federal University of Minas Gerais (FUMG).
