Viewing concepts on types of medication, diseases, reported clinical information by patients, as well as exchanging information with students and healthcare professionals from other worldwide universities, are just some of the possibilities available in the ALERT® STUDENT system. This product will be implemented in the Espírito Santo State, in Brazil, for the students of Santa Casa da Misericórdia Science University of Vitória (EMESCAM).

This technology will be made available through a partnership with the Portuguese company ALERT, which has developed the solution, and will enable students to access healthcare content that is stored in a digital format in a similar way to Wikipedia. The difference is the fact that ALERT® STUDENT will be loaded with information from official bodies, a medication database and its content will be produced by teachers, physicians and university students. Furthermore, there is a regulatory body that evaluates and authorizes the publication of content.

Available in Portuguese, Spanish and English, this tool is used by the Pontifícia Catholic University in Chile, the Autonomous University in Nuevo León in Mexico, the Medicine Faculty of Porto University in Portugal, and other teaching facilities. Therefore, students from the Brazilian university will be able to share information with other students from Chile, Mexico and Portugal. The idea behind this technology lies in the exchange of data as a contribution towards the learning of future professionals by using accurate concepts as all posts have to be validated by the appropriate specialists before being made official.
